The Massey Ferguson 850 and 860 combines, produced in the late 1970s and 1980s, were reliable and powerful machines designed for mid- to large-scale farming operations. Both featured conventional straw walker threshing systems and diesel engines, with the 850 offering around 130 horsepower and the larger 860 delivering up to 175 horsepower for increased harvesting capacity. Known for their durability and simplicity, these combines supported a range of header sizes and were easy to maintain, making them popular workhorses in their time. While they lack modern electronics, their mechanical design and solid performance continue to earn them respect among vintage farm equipment enthusiasts.
